It will be a time for parents to have a chance to unload unused clothing and equipment and pick up some new ones for a fraction of the price.
February Break Outing
This event is designed as a way to bring the students together during the February Break. Last year a trip to the URI ice rink was scheduled, but this doesn’t have to be the same each year. The date for this event has yet to be determined as well.

This event is held to bring the community together to appreciate the natural world. In the past we have done a seal walk at Rome Point in March, but the activity is not determined at this time.
Walkathon for Juvenile Diabetes
This is also a new event that we will have this year. It will be held at Ninigret Park on Saturday, March 31st. It will begin at 2PM. There is a family at the school that is directly affected by this disease and this is a great opportunity to give support to them.
Campus Spruce-up (hosted by the Investigators)
In preparation for the springtime as well as the Eco-Fair, we will hold a campus cleaning and landscaping in early March.
Eco-Fair
This is our biggest event and all steps are involved. It is scheduled for May 19th. We need a lot of people to help organize this event. Listed below is a recap of what the steps are responsible for:
- Arts and Crafts- Having lots of kid friendly things for children to do. The Explorers usually run this event.
- Basket Raffle and Silent Auction- Organizing and creating themes for the baskets, getting volunteers to sell tickets and work in the silent auction area and organizing and motivation the Compass community to give donations that could be auctioned off. The Discoverers usually run this event.
- Compass Grill- This involves getting volunteers to run the grill, acquiring one big grill or a couple of small grills, getting donations for items that would be sold. The Adventurers usually run this event.
- Bake sale- This involves organizing the volunteers to run the bake sale and getting donations. The Investigators usually run this event.
- Garden Sale- This involves organizing the volunteers to run the garden sale and getting plant donations from the community. The Navigators usually run this event.

After the 8th grade students graduate there is an informal reception held at the school. Parent volunteers provide food and drinks for this event.
End of the Year Picnic
