ADMISSIONS

Thank you for your interest in the Compass School. We are a public charter school and offer families in Washington County an alternative public school choice. We are funded through public tax dollars, as well as Federal and State grants. In accordance with our charter, all applications are considered, ensuring a student demographic based upon an equally distributed enrollment reflecting the school community. Per the guidelines set forth by the Rhode Island Department of Education, a lottery is conducted if the amount of applicants exceeds the available openings. Any applicant not chosen is retained on the waiting list, which will not roll-over from year to year. The admissions lottery will be conducted March 1st.

We encourage parents of prospective students to visit us during an Open House. Our Open House is a great opportunity for parents to visit our school and meet teachers and parents from the Compass Community.

Our 2013 Open Houses will be held on Wednesday, January 16th and Tuesday, February 26.  The Open House is conducted as a presentation for parents with a question and answer period and begins at 6:00 PM.
